Web Site Links Consumers to Green Companies
Go Green Tube, a Simi Valley, Calif., company that focuses on distributing information about eco-conscious individuals, groups and companies, has formed an alliance with Sierra Club Green Home in an effort to help homeowners find ways to make their environments more sustainable. Green Home President Steven Fechheimer said the partnership will help educate consumers about green living, as well as help them find green businesses to work with.

New Energy Star ratings
released for monitors, digital picture frames
The EPA has released new, lower Energy Star power standards for computer monitors and digital picture frames. It estimates if all computer monitors sold next year met the standard, about $1 billion would be saved in energy consumption and greenhouse emissions would be reduced by the equivalent of 1.5 million vehicles.

Writer Calls For Feds to Underwrite Green Home Improvements
An editorial appearing in the Miami Herald newspaper is recommending that the federal government step in to help homeowners buy energy-efficient homes. Writer Hank Kalet argues that many states are offering homeowner incentives, but he notes there is fear funding will run out before consumers can take full advantage of the programs. Kalet argues the federal government should back the state programs.
